Para kujaku: ¿Hay algún programa para medir los MIPS o medir el rendimiento de la CPU para Linux? Y, ¿existe uno q tb tenga versión windows? Es para medir el rendimiento de sólo la CPU y compararlo entre los dos OS's....

Igualmente, sólo por curiosidad, ¿cuántos MIPs (1, 2... pocos mas ) puede tener un K6-2 a 400?

Sobre el mainframe, ¿no es lo mismo q un Bewoulf (algo así)? Un grupo de CPUs q se usan como un solo PC y q sirven para operaciones de cálculo intensivo...
Yo quería montarme un cluster en casita para tener 2 ordenadores 100% funcionales, pero es q odio usar Linux para las chorradas cotidianas (ver vídeos, comprimir archivos, etc).

Here you can find some pictures of the mainframe. It was donated by a bank to a Linux users group together with their full data center (they also have another older IBM 390).

The one shown in the pictures is a IBM 9672-R35 Generation 4, with 3 processors and a System Assist Processor which can make 3 completely different systems. The mainframes and all the equipment are their property and can do whatever they want with them BUT (this is the problem) they don't have an internet connection installed so we'll have to find a way to carry all the blocks using a disk and then upload the results back from one of our computers.

The mainframe is running linux so it will be able to execute c2bf without problems. I'll visit their place this saturday so we can talk more about this but they have already offered their help on this proyect

no han considerado alguna manera wireless de conectar tremendo mainframe?
he visto en algunas paginas de internet tales como Pringles Can Wireless
en la cual hacen una antena de una lata de pringles para obtener buen alcanze,

Otro detalle, antes había unos 5000 y pico bloques que funcionaban (en el estado del proyecto) y ahora solo 1!?!?!

tranquilos todos que estan de reparaciones o algo asi, por cierto, hablan del mainframe en la pagina principal, os pego la traduccion de lo que dicen;
