The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever

En 1966 los Beatles estaban hasta los cojones de estar de gira, habian tenido amenazas de muerte por parte del ku klux clan por decir Lennon que "eran mas importantes que jesucristo", en Filipinas quisieron reventarles la cabeza por no preserntarse a una recepcion que habia montado Ferdinand Marcos, y en general porque segun Ringo Starr decia que los conciertos eran absurdos ya que del griterio que habia no habia amplificador lo suficientemente potente para que los conciertos se pudiesen oir (en una ocasion se tuvieron que valer del servicio de megafonia del estadio en el que tocaban) asi que decidieron dejar de salir de gira.

Se encontraron con un monton de tiempo libre y empezaron a embarcarse en proyectos paralelos. Mccartney se dedico a reclutar musicos para la discografica APPLE RECORDS que habian montado, George harrison empezo a sacar algun disco en solittario ya que en los Beatles Lennon y Mccartney le limitaban a 2 canciones por disco, Ringo simplemente se dedico a su familia y a tocarse los huevos y Lennon se fue a España con Richard Lester a grabar una pelicula. Durante esta estancia Lennon compuso esta cancion que grabarian posteriormente.

Es una cancion de Lennon que es fruto de viajes de LSD, memorias de su infancia ("Strawberry field" era un Orfanato que habia cerca donde el vivia).

No soy seguidor de este grupo, pero esta cancion me encantó. Es la banda sonora de "Algo en comun" (Garden STATE). La pelicula me encanta y la banda sonora lo mismo.

Jeff Buckley-Hallelujah

Los críticos consideraron a Buckley como uno de los artistas más prometedores de su generación tras la publicación en 1994 de su álbum debut Grace. Sin embargo, en la cumbre de su popularidad, Buckley murió ahogado mientras nadaba. Su trabajo y estilo siguen siendo reconocidos por la crítica y por los músicos.

Apesar de existir numerosas versiones de esta letra, escrita por Leonard Cohen (que antes de ser compositor, era poeta y novelista, con temas como la soledad, la religion y la sexualidad), mi favorita es y seguira siendo la version grabada por Jeff Buckley que aparece en su Album Grace.
