La cuenta oficial de Twitter del manga Kimio Alive, el cual se publica en la Monthly Shonen Magazine de Kodansha, revelaba el 29 de agosto que su autor, Kousei Eguchi, fallecía el pasado 19 de agosto. Eguchi también había firmado el manga Boy Meets Maria, aunque bajo el seudónimo PEYO.
